The Meaning of Life
(and other such nonsense)
My first book. A collection of essays written between 2010 – 2014.
The search for meaning is fraught with paradox.
On the one hand, it is a noble pursuit, a need to understand and align with higher purpose.
On the other hand, it is also nonsense, vanity, a desperate desire to neatly package the raging chaos that is life into boxes.
A meditation in three parts
Written to mark and honor a time of my life that was filled with much existential dread, questioning, searching and wrestling. A time when it felt like I was swimming in my subconscious, trying to rewrite my mental code.
Part I. The Art of Being
Part II. The Act of Creating
Part III. The Space in Between
For a long time I have toyed with the idea of creating a personal ‘Tao’, a distillation of ideas and conclusions I came to in my quest to figure out ‘the meaning of life’ and how to live well. This is the result of that journey.
